In 1994, a small group of people began a series of conversations with mothers
living in public housing in Southeast Raleigh. The desire was to bring hope
to a hurting community.
This group was invited to sit, to listen, to eat, to laugh, and to
experience the lives of these new friends. Out of these conversations there
came a realization that they needed one another to fulfill the potential for
a true community. The foundation for the programs and services that Neighbor
To Neighbor offers came from these encounters.
Today Neighbor To Neighbor continues to come alongside families in daily
partnership in Southeast Raleigh. This grassroots effort has also expanded
to the growing Latino population throughout the greater Raleigh area.
